IPA employee engagement programme

Employee engagement - how the IPA can help

What we do

IPA director, Nita Clarke, is one of the UK's leading experts on employee engagement and has advised government, business and public services on how to engage their workforce. The IPA team, led by Nita, can help your organisation to understand how to improve performance through engagement, design a bespoke strategy to meet your needs, and deliver training and suppport.

Nita regularly gives internal presentations to organisations and their senior leaders on employee engagement. Recent clients have included Santander, BAE and Serco, and in the public sector, the Cabinet Office, Croydon Council and Brent Council.

We also offer organisations an employee survey service. Check out our survey hints and tips here.

A new approach to employee engagement: The IPA Workforce Engagement Programme©

Much has been written and talked about the need to increase productivity through engaging with employees.   However there is relatively little guidance to help organisations set a path towards employee engagement.

Through our research we have identified four key enablers of employee engagement; leadership; engaging managers; employee voice; and organisational integrity. Our approach to employee engagement uses this insight to identify how organisations can improve engagement and provide them with the analysis, tools and training to do so.

Drawing on our extensive research and practice the IPA has developed a package of services which can be tailored to suit organisations of all sizes, sectors, unionised or non-unionised which will:
  • Provide a diagnostic of the organisation’s current situation
  • Set goals and objectives for the organisation and a road map for achieving them
  • Deliver training to senior manager, line managers, representatives and employees
  • Measure outcomes and provide on-going mentoring and support

The IPA recognises that each organisation is different and will have different requirements from the IPA Workforce Engagement Programme © and will tailor the programme to your needs.

A programme of support across one or two years could include some or all of the following:

Diagnostic:

  • Interviews and focus groups with employees
  • Observation and collection of company data
  • Bespoke employee attitude surveys and benchmarking with other organisations
  • “Vision” workshop to test the findings

Implementation:

  • Road map
  • Training
  • Regular follow-up meetings and reviews
  • Telephone and online support as required

Keeping it going:

  • Repeat employee attitude surveys to measure progress
  • Regular reviews with the IPA team
  • Access to case studies and research reports
  • Support when and as you need it
