The new government & the workplace

The new government & the workplace

Complete the survey now!

The first half of 2010 has seen small signs of a return to growth in the private sector, but progress out of the recession is slow and fragile, and there are still difficult decisions to be made regarding job reductions, pay freezes or reductions,or short time working.  The past twelve months have demonstrated that organisations increasingly, need to find innovative ways to retain and motivate the staff they will rely on when the upturn comes. Handling the difficult decisions  well or badly can mean the difference between having to make further cuts and being in a position to capitalise on the upturn.

What are your hopes and fears for the year ahead and how can the new government support your organisation?

The IPA is keen to find out how you feel about the current and future economic and industrial relations climate of UK plc, and what you believe the new governement should be doing to help organisations in both the private and public sector emerge from the recession stronger and more resiliant in the future.

We would appreciate your time to complete the survey form below. Answers will be treated confidentially, but if you would like the chance to win £100 in John Lewis vouchers, please complete your contact details at the end of the form.

How can the IPA help?

When difficult decisions have to be made, the IPA can help organisations  to handle them well, including developing open and honest employee communication and consultation strategies, training in the key skills and behaviours for all involved in the process – employee representatives, line managers and senior management – as well as providing a balloting service for organisations needing to elect employee representatives for a collective redundancy consultation.

For a full range of our consultancy and training packages, see the Consultancy and Training Services section of the website, or contact our Training and Development Director, Derek Luckhurst.
